Once a man was asked, ‘what did you gain by regularly praying to God?’
The man replied, ‘nothing… but let me tell you what I lost: Anger, ego, greed, depression, insecurity, and fear of death.’
Sometimes, the answer to our prayers is not gaining but losing; which ultimately is the gain.
Putting yourself down is not being humble. We’re allowed to feel good about ourselves. We’re allowed to compliment ourselves, and say ‘thank you’ to people who compliment us instead of giving them a list of reasons not to. I don’t understand why confidence makes people so uncomfortable, but it has to stop.
